Cross Falmouth Trail

Imagine if you could walk or cross-country ski through several hundred acres of open space right in the center of Falmouth.  The Falmouth Land Trust is proud to introduce the Cross Falmouth Trail a multi-use four season recreation trail that provides the public with excellent access to numerous conserved properties in the heart of Falmouth.  The approximately 4.5 mile trail trail starts on the Western edge of town at the River Point property (accessed from the Hannaford parking lot) and terminates at the Cumberland town line at the Merrill Memorial Forest.   The trail is not entirely complete yet, but several sections are open for use today and there are easy access points at River Point (Hannaford), off of Falmouth Road at Community Park, and through the Town Forest at the corner of Winn and Field Roads.  There is a kiosk at each access point with a large map and the trail is clearly marked.  Please visit the map section of our webpage and print a copy if you would like a detailed map to take with you on the trail.  Future sections are dependent on additional trail easements and the construction of railroad and/or river crossings.  Please check back frequently for updates.

Trail Rules

1) Please stay on the marked trail and respect private landowners property

2) No ATVs are permitted on the trail.  Certain sections of the trail are open to snowmobile use in the winter.

3) Please clean up after your dogs

4) The trail is a work in progress: please obey all signage and do not enter closed trail sections

We hope that you enjoy the trail and we'd love to hear your feedback on this exciting project!
