Get Involved
There are a number of ways to get involved with the Falmouth Land Trust, but we need volunteer help on two committees in particular.
- Stewardship - Become a steward of one of the properties protected by the Trust and help by inspecting, maintaining, and caring for the land. For more information, please call Peter Farnum at 797-9728.
- Community Outreach - Work with other volunteers to write and place articles in the local newspapers or assist in the publicity and coordination of specific events like nature forums, spring cleanup of Trust-managed properties, and other community gatherings. Participate in Nature Walks. The Trust is looking for biologists, geologists, local historians, etc., who are interested in leading nature walks and sharing their knowledge with the community. For more information, please call Judy Adelman at 781-3085.
Other ways to get involved include:
- Becoming an informed voter and supporting candidates who will protect Falmouth's open space.
- Attending town meetings on open space issues. Individual voices make a remarkable difference.
- Getting to know your neighbors. The most important preservation efforts continue to happen at the neighborhood level. Become involved in your neighborhood association.
